Angela Elue-Okafor

Angela Elue-Okafor is a veteran Nigerian journalist with more than two decades of experience in radio broadcasting and media advocacy. Originally from Delta State and educated in Kano, she holds a diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, and a B.Sc. in Public Administration from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. She also earned a specialized certificate in preventing the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji.

Angela is a change-reporting media fellow with ImpactHouse and a behavioral change communicator trained by BBC Media Action. She is also a counselor, psychosocial support first-aider, youth mentor, and climate-change enthusiast. Over the years, she has produced notable programs such as Yours Truly, Family Matters, Society Today, Supreme Theatre, and Talking Point. She currently produces and co-presents the BBC award-winning program Area and Make We Yarn.

Deeply involved in civic and development work, Angela serves on multiple committees including the OGP Technical Working Group on Education/Health, KADBEAM, Sky Girls Nigeria Technical Committee, the Kaduna State Human Rights and Gender Responsive Committee, and the State Advocacy Team on AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. She is the Programs Manager at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). Angela is married with three children and enjoys reading, traveling, and intellectual conversations.
