Dr. Jamila Dahiru

Dr. Jamila Mohammed Dahiru is a scholar, communicator, and education reformer whose work bridges research, policy, and community impact. As a lecturer in Development and Strategic Communication at the University of Abuja, she explores how evidence, leadership, and storytelling can drive social change, with a focus on education, gender equity, and inclusive governance.

A former Commissioner of Education in Bauchi State, Dr. Dahiru led transformative reforms in school governance, expanded opportunities for girls, and championed data-driven systems to improve learning outcomes. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the WeCare Centre for Community Awareness and Empowerment Initiative and the founder of AI Sisters, a digital learning platform empowering young women with 21st-century skills.

Dr. Dahiru is the author of A Woven Woman, Educating the North, and Dear Self, works that reflect her belief that education and empowerment are both policy and personal journeys.

Fluent in English and Hausa, she brings a unique perspective to discussions on journalism, leadership, and social transformation, demonstrating how research, communication, and empathy can create meaningful impact.
