Cancellation 

The organiser of Africa Conference on Development Journalism reserves the right to make changes to the design, format, agenda, speakers, location and any other aspect of the event without notice and without liability to the delegate. The organiser may at any time, with or without giving notice, in its absolute discretion and without giving any reason, change, cancel or postpone the conference, change its venue or any of the other published particulars, or withdraw any invitation to attend. In any case, none of the organisers shall be liable for any loss, liability, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any person, nor will they return any money paid to them in connection with the conference. Regretfully, in the instance of paid conference attendance fees / donations / pledges, we have a strict no refund policy as all fees collected contribute towards the planning of the conference logistics.

 

Liability 

The organiser and its partners shall not be held liable for any theft, damage or injury arising from any cause whatsoever during the conference.

 

Right of admission 

In its sole discretion and without refund, the organiser reserves the right to refuse admittance to or expel from the conference anyone that it determines is behaving in a manner that could be disruptive or pose any danger to any other attendee. Entrant consents and agrees that in such event, it shall not be entitled to a refund of any portion of amounts paid.

 

Health & Safety 

The Organisers and partners of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.  In order that these measures are effective, everyone entering these premises must take all reasonable care to prevent accidents.  The attending delegates must at all times follow instructions and guidelines issued by the organisers and conference officials.

 

Data Protection 

Personal data collected by Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) is used for the purposes of processing registrations and conference communication.  The data will be stored, processed and disclosed to ACDJ Team for future communication, should you elect to be contacted further for promotional and marketing content.

 

Photography  

Except as otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the organiser reserves the sole right to use any photographs, recordings, electronic images or publicity material received by or obtained during the course of the conference. The organiser has the exclusive right to include photographic, video and other visual portrayals of attendees, sponsors, exhibitors and their exhibits including its contents, in any pictorial medium of any nature whatsoever for the purpose of advertising, publicity and otherwise, without further compensation to the attendee, speaker, sponsor or exhibitor, and all rights titled and interest bearing will be the organiser’s sole property, free of any claims of attendee, speaker, exhibitor or sponsor or any persons deriving any rights or interest from the attendee, speaker, exhibitor or sponsor.

 

Dispute resolution 

Should any dispute, disagreement or claim arise between the organisers / delegates / exhibitors / partners for any matter before/during the conference. Kindly escalate these in writing to conference@amdf-centre.org.
